If you’re not a member of Angie’s
List you might not be quite clear on what all the fuss is about. If you are a
member you might be interested in the best way to sort through all of the info
you’ll find. Here’s the real inside story of Angie’s List and how to get the
most out of your membership.
First, it’s important to keep a
few things in mind when you’re sorting through all of the profiles. You’ll see
some companies have hundreds of reviews spanning several years and others have
fewer reviews over a shorter period of time. Is one better than the other? Not
necessarily, but it’s important to understand what you’re reading.
It’s relatively easy for any
company to have 100% A reviews when they have a small number of total reviews.
Once you see a company with over 50 they probably have at least a couple that
aren’t perfect. Is that a bad thing? Nope. It tells you the feedback is
real.
As you’re reading through the
reviews for any company whether you’re looking for windows or anything else it’s
very important to read the company response. Any company that pays attention to
the feedback from their customers will respond to their reviews, both the great
ones and the less than great ones.
For example, our company operates
in several markets and we’ve received nearly 500 total reviews from Angie’s List
members. The owners of our local stores write personal responses to each and
every one. You’ll see the vast majority are A’s and B’s (over 94%). That tells
you that most folks who wrote a review were pretty happy with their project.
You can also see how we handled situations when folks weren’t 100% thrilled with
some aspect of their project. You’ll notice that every single project ends up
with the windows looking great, but we’re not perfect.
Another factor to keep in mind is
that about 1 in 10 Angie’s List members who work with us end up writing a review. We hear from our friends in other
industries that this ratio is
pretty typical. It tells you that the vast majority of folks (the other 9 out of 10)
are perfectly satisfied with their project. They’re not super happy or sad so
they thank our installation team and they move on with their lives. We
completely understand this as everyone is busy and most folks don’t have the
time to write a review that says “they did what they were supposed to do”.
Whether or not you’re a member,
hopefully reading through our site and seeing what we have to offer helps you see
that we care about our customers and we do everything we can to make sure
everyone has a fantastic experience. We take all feedback seriously and we’re
always trying to do a better job today than we did yesterday.
